How sure are you about the contents of your ordnance collection?

For the first time in Australia there is a company that is solely dedicated to identifying, classifying and then certifying items that are "Free From Explosives" (FFE). Can you confidently identify each item in your collection? Are you sure that they contain no explosive, pyrotechnic, lachrymatory, radioactive, chemical, biological or other toxic components or material?

Many items are commonly mistaken as "safe". An example of this is a hand grenade that has been defused i.e. where the detonator has been removed. The fact is the grenade is still a fragmenting high explosive device full of ageing explosive material. And the hand grenade is quite often being used as a paperweight!

Many otherwise stable explosive materials can become sensitive with age or if they make contact with incompatible materials due to the deterioration of their immediate containers. Such items may not only become more sensitive to impact but are also liable to spontaneous initiation, especially in the case of old or badly stored propellants.

We have over ten years experience as EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Operators and are members of the Institute of Explosive Engineers. Highly mobile we are available to visit your premises to assess your collection. Dependent on the size of your collection we will endeavour to offer a 'same day service', which, using modern technology, will involve the identification, classification and certification of each of your items. We will liaise with outside authorities for the disposal of items we are unable to certify.

Each item is individually marked and digitally photographed. This information, incorporated into your certificate, provides a unique record of that item for future reference. Your certificates will be produced, laminated and presented in a quality reference binder. A CD-ROM will be provided containing an electronic version of your certificates and any research documents used by us in identifying your ordnance.

Certification will be in accordance with United Nations International Mine Action Standards. In particular IMAS 1050, Storage, Transportation, Handling of Explosives. Annex H Para, H.7 Free from Explosives (FFE) Certification.
